Dream World XI – Dream Team to Dominate

Dream Team

Every football fan love making lists. While doing so fantasy takes over the cruel reality most of the time. Here is my try at constructing a dream World XI with active players. With so many talented and skillful players out there, it’s difficult to pick only eleven of them. But here is a list of those who I would want in a team above all others.

Goalkeeper: Iker Casillas – Real Madrid

The Madrid captain is an automatic choice to the list. He is regarded by many as the best goalkeeper in the world. He has exceptional reflexes and is an inspiring leader.

Right Back: Dani Alves – Barcelona

The Brazilian is good in offense and sound defensively. He has been a vital cog in the Barcelona wheel for some time now. He has helped Barcelona to win the Champions League and many other trophies.

Left Back: Philipp Lahm – Bayern Munich

Lahm is the most coveted defender in recent years. His ability to burst forward and deliver accurate crosses is akin to that of wingers. Add to that his exceptional positional sense and robust tackling and you have a complete package.

Centre Back: Thiago Silva – PSG

The no nonsense Brazilian is one of the many PSG’s prized possessions. He is good in the air and has the physical strength to go with it. His man marking skills are exemplary.

Centre Back: Mats Hummels – Borussia Dortmund

Germany’s biggest defensive talent and sought after by both Barcelona and Madrid, Hummels has been instrumental in Dortmund’s recent success. The ex-Bayern man is fast becoming a fixture for the national team. Germany’s conveyor belt of exceptional young talent remains on overdrive.

Right Winger: Cristiano Ronaldo – Real Madrid

Ronaldo is two footed, good in the air, has a lethal free-kick, skillful and fast. He is the world’s costliest player and probably the most complete player as well.

Left winger: Gareth Bale – Tottenham

Bale is an exciting young player with an incredible amount of energy and blistering pace. He is one of the hottest prospects at the moment.

Central Midfield: Andres Iniesta – Barcelona

This fast footed midfielder can break defenses of any team in the world. His control on the football is breathtaking and he has a keen eye for the killer ball. He is Barcelona’s heart and soul in midfield along with Xavi.

Central Midfield: Xabi Alonso – Real Madrid

There is no other player in the world that can play a better long ball than him. He operates from a deeper position and contributes to defense as well as in attack. The ex Liverpool man is also a good  tackler and helps his team break opposition attacks.

Striker: Lionel Messi – Barcelona

The Argentine’s scorching runs leave his opponents confused and are uncomparable. Messi’s enchanting  runs from midfield are lethal, and his balance when breezing past defenders is implausible.

Striker: Radamel Falcao – Atletico Madrid

He is a gifted footballer and is seen by many as one of the most complete strikers of today. Falcao has been regarded as a force to be reckoned with when compared to the best strikers in the world.
